Latest News on Rex, September 27, 2024

We are still hoping and needing a home for Rex. He has become quite loveable and the comments we received from our boarder (we were away for a week) were over the top. “Happy”, Enthusiastic”, “Friendly”, “Happy go Lucky”, “Playful”, “Charming”, “Angelic”, “Adorable”, “Fun-Loving”, “Eager to Please”…. and “the Sweetest Dog Ever”.
He is quite the pup and we know will make a wonderful pet. Please contact me if interested.

Rex update: end of the line?

Hello friends, we are just about at the end of the line for caring for Rex.

He is a sweet pup and will make an awesome pet but we can’t keep him any longer.

We may have to reach out to Dallas Animal Shelter although prefer not to.

If there is anyone who might consider adopting Rex we will be glad to welcome a conversation and move forward. Please let me know as soon as possible.

Latest update on our stray rescue Rex

We pulled this fella off the street on August 5, with the intent of reuniting him with his people. Despite a lot of social media, rescue and animal control listings and flyers we have not succeeded in this effort. So our focus now is to find him the best rehome situation and while working on that, through some kind donations from friends, we have had him checked out by the vet (heartworm negative and fecal clear)and given him his vaccinations and started on heartworm, flea/tick prevention.

He is a sweet, energetic, 1 1/2 yo with some remaining puppiness. Some of his defensive behaviors from his time in survival mode are clearing up and being replaced with selective trust of caregivers. He is hyper-reactive to people outside the car when we take him for rides. The vet’s opinion is that his injured leg was due to some trauma rather than the result of surgery. The half leg remaining has some tissue trauma and she recommends surgery to remove the remaining “leg”.

Hoping for some guidance on how to find a loving understanding home for this guy with training opportunities to help him be his best loving pet self.
